Doily

My friend Margie made me fall in love with doilies
and her crochet covered stones are always a source of inspiration & smiles for me :)

I drew the doily directly onto the rubber carving block.
First some concentric circles with a compass and then I drew the pattern in freestyle.

Wow!!!! That is so lovely. You must have so much patience to be able to do all of that carving. Its beautiful x
Have you check out Zentangles yet? You could do an amazing stamp with that technique. I love this one, it's so intricate!
Te hago la mas profunda reverencia!

Te quedó divina...! Lástima que acá no podemos tallar tan grande por no conseguir los tacos... Lo que falta para completar esa imagen es mi piedra pintada como con carpetita de crochet... ¿te acordás?

I had been drooling over the exact same stamp on etsy. I just found your blog last week and immediately ordered the supplies you had suggested. They came quickly and I have made two stamps so far and can't wait to make more. Not sure if I'm ready to tackle this one just yet but I do love and admire it. Maybe I will start with a smaller one. Thanks for the inspiration.
Holy moly, I'm so impressed! It's beautiful.
Now that is my kind of intensely tedious project! The actual stamp looks like you could eat it, yum.

I have been lurking around without commenting for a long time now! Your amazingly intricate doily stamp brought me out :) You have an amazing blog, love all your birdies. I used to paint watercolors (only landscapes) for the longest time but now have switched to oils. Your art makes me wanna try water colors again just for their sheer fluidity and lovely handmade paper!
I love your artworks! They're amazing!!! : ) May I ask, how thin is the carving tool you're using? I'm looking for one that can help me with the details. x
Amazing! Love your work :)
Intricate and beautiful just like God has gifted you! : )I really enjoy your illustrations they minister to me and encourage me to create too. Thank you for sharing your colorful illustrations with us all!
It is by far the most complicated stamp I've ever seen!
Fantastic!

this is simply inspired. wonderful
this is beautiful. I've just started carving my own stamps (thanks for your inspiration) and all I can think is, 'wow, i'd need my reading glasses to do all that fine work.' I might have to do some smaller ones before I tackle something so detailed. But I sure do want to.
