The books are a lovely gift! Love seeing a collection of some of your other treasures! Is that a dried cactus in your picture - it almost looks like copper with a beautiful patina! ~Anna
I love books, I'm lucky to work with rare ones. My favourite is John Gould's 'Birds of Europe'. There is a lovely image of a swan in it, always makes me so happy, (and think of fairy tales) x :)
Oh how I'd love to riffle through your "Birds of Guatemala" book! My favorite bird book from my collection is "Birds of North America." It was well used by my grandmother and still has some of her scribbly notes in it! I love it.
Peterson's is my all-time favourite field guide. His illustrations have definitely stood the test of time; right up there with Audubon. What a great old edition you have! Mine's rather a lot newer. Can I ask what year yours was published?
There is nothing better than discovering an old book, especially one with bird pictures. I collect the Peterson Field Guide Series. I love the blue/green cover and the illustrations are always a treat. Thanks for sharing:)
Everything's so very pretty - and I love those books!
