Sweet Revenge

My 15 year old son Israel was stung by a scorpion that was on his pillow this morning.
It stung him in his lower back. Thank God he's doing fine but I was shaken up.
This mornings shenanigans inspired this new painting. I'm calling it Sweet Revenge ;-)
Watercolor & Acrylic ink on hand made Twinrocker paper. 6" x 8".

Hi Geninne, I got 2 beautiful yards of Alegria, blue birds on blue in the mail today. It is just gorgeous! Thank you for sharing your talents with the world.
Oh my goodness! So glad to hear your son is doing fine. I would have totally freaked.
Just look at that beautiful painting…talk about "when life gives you lemons…" Sending caring thoughts from one mom to another. :)
Glad to hear he is doing OK! Wow! Sweet revenge is right! ;-) I'd never want to experience a scorpion bite, or even be within reach of getting bitten!
I like your illustration! That purple paper is lovely too!
uau, un escorpión...qué bueno que está todo bien .Imagino el susto de tu hijo y la impresión!!
Saludos
Que bueno que Israel este bien, paso el mal momento, saludos desde Chile,Jeannette.
I was bitten by a scorpion in my bed in the middle of night. Painful! So sorry for Israel. Glad he is okay.
i vividly remember when i was 6 yrs old having one drop on my foot and sting me. i couldnt even breathe to tell my mom what had happened and then finally started screaming. i've never appreciated scorpions ;oP!!!
Love the bougainvillea. It reminds me of my childhood. Ours grew so tall and huge, draping over an entire wall and it had the same exact fushia color as what you have on the picture. It was sad that we had to move without it. Thanks for sharing a lot of beautiful pictures with us!
We sometimes find scorpions in our vacation home in NW Phoenix - I know it comes with living on the edge of the desert but it doesn't mean I have to like them! I love your new picture and glad to hear your son is OK!
Very glad to hear Israel is ok. I love your picture!
To my eye, there's something small, lovely and fierce with that little bird in this picture. She's beautiful and wonderfully made, compared with the ugly scorpion.
I think it's a wonderful depiction of how we mothers defend our children against all harm - bravo!
Hola Geninne,
I am happy to read that everything is alright now.

I hope he makes a quick recovery, found your blog via Bookhou, you have some lovely things here.
Yikes - a scorpion! That sounds scary, I´m so glad he´s OK (and great therapy illustration)!
Crikey! That would have been scary for the young fella! Just as frightening for you, I see. I'm sure that Sweet Revenge has a super sharp beak! Thank you for sharing these beauties with us.
Oh, so glad he is ok. And I admire that you can take something scary like that and turn it into beautiful art. What a gift!
yes you should get a kitty
to keep the scorpions away
scorpions, spiders...
how frightening for all of you!
was it a mad rush to the doctor's?
what did you do?
Qué impresión! Qué bueno que ya esté bien, dicen que las plantas y las flores de lavanda los espantan, para que pongas muchas! Se dan bien en climas secos. Saludos!
It is so great that you get inspiration even out of bad incidents! I am glad your son's ok!AriadnefromGreece!
So glad your son is ok.... what a nasty scare! God bless you and your family and your awesome talent!
Beautiful rainbow of colors,
paola

I'm scared of scorpions! My grandparent sea house was full. I'm glad you son is fine.
Best wishes for you and your son - speedy recovery. Beautiful piece!
Oh my goodness! I'm so glad he's okay.
gives me shivers!
So glad your son is okay! I'm wondering if there is a natural deterrent against scorpions?!
Love the painting:)
what a terrifying experience. blessing to you and your family and the revenge is most justified. take care.
Oh goodness! Glad he's doing ok. The art that came from your experience is beautiful. At least something good came out of it. I said a prayer for Israel.
Scary. It's good to know Israel is okay. I like the Sweet Revenge - a great way to express yourself! Take good care.
Just gorgeous colors! So nice that you turned a negative experience into a positive thing by painting! May I ask if you water colored the twin rocker paper first in purple to get that base color?
Love your work Genine. The more I see what you do, the more I am inspired to do something creative myself.

The fear inspired you! All that "adrenalina"! :) This illustration is really gorgeous!
Hello again - Have posted the kingfisher on my blog. http://artcraftcart.blogspot.in/2012/04/king-of-good-times.html
Please have a look. Will appreciate your feedback. Thanks!
I noticed that we never get feedback here for questions/comments. It's OK but would be nice if you could :) I don't like FB and don't use it much.Hope you don't mind me making this comment/observation.
Hey RK, I did get some feedback. Just thought I should let you know.
Lovely Cactus! Kind regards from Argentina.
I love the colors and how they all blend together. The birds feet have to hurt standing on top of the cactus catching the scorpion. The butterfly perched above the bird makes the picture.
Nice post.so good. I like it very much. I will continue to pay attention to it. welcome to my website, buy you like, Click Cheap Christian Louboutin to enter.
