Back to School

Ceramics School
Teacher at the wheel
I just enrolled in ceramics school this week and had my first class today! I feel like my arms are going to fall off! I did lots n' lots of kneading, I sat at the wheel for the first time in my life and learned how to center, cut and shape and loved every minute of it :) I also learned that a totally different set of skills is needed for this kind of craft, but most importantly I had fun learning something new. I'm excited to see where this will lead.

I've always been interested in working with clay. I took a hand building class but would also love to take a throwing class. Can't wait to see what you come up with :)

I've just finished a beginner's course and already signed up for a longer course.
I love the meditation of throwing, but I'm also excited about all the possibilities of decoration, which I know you will be love too.
You can see my first simple pieces on my instagram if you're interested @flowerpress

I really like ceramics, it is such a wonderfull material, and you can do so much with it.
I wasn't very good at it when I tried it, but found it meditative to do. I miss playing around with the clay and creating things.
I hope you learn a lot, and have a good time at it.

Oh, you're going to have so much fun! I can just see your designs on dishes & cups. I used to do ceramics and thought the kick wheel was so meditative. & it's such a delight to see something you made come out of the kiln. Oh, and maybe you could put your designs on vases, too!

I took a pottery class a few years ago, and like you, loved every minute of it (but whoa, it's definitely a whole new set of skills for sure!) I cannot wait to see where you take this. I'm dreaming of beautiful pots and mugs decorated Geninne-style. Heaven!
